Architecture xx

Following the project of Architecture there has been multiple opportunities for photos and images that we are therefore able to work from throughout the course of this assignment. With the images I have taken both around the college and in London I have created a variety of responses from drawings, charcoal, gold card, monoprints and collages thus working towards two final pieces. Here is some of the work I have produced over the course of 6 weeks.

Tonal Drawings
Charcoal Drawing

Monoprints

Gold Card Prints

Collages
After our research and experiments we were told that we had to create two final pieces that would represent our best work and show off our skills to the best of our ability. From the start I was never sure exactly how I wanted to carry out this task however towards the end I had a clear image that I wanted to work towards.
Both of my pieces would link together somehow but I wanted to show variety so I constructed them with completely different views, my first was a collage that I have laboured over for a whole week straight and as an outcome I was over the moon. However when it came to the second piece I wasn’t sure what would look good next to this mixed media image but still have a contrasting effect.
I therefore decided on a piece that would look more realistic compared to my college but still have that quirky edge.
Posting the final pieces shortly... xx

Back to the Big City!! 2012

On Thursday 19th January 2012 the first years at Alton College studying BTEC Art were apart of a trip venturing up to London to find inspiration for our new project -- Architecture.
The day was as free as ever but long, tiring and a lot of walking. (Well for me) Unfortunately I only had my iPod touch for photos as my camera decided to break so here are some of the edited photos I took up in the big city... (They might be a little blurry)

It was a very eventful day (even if Georgia fell after trying to fun up the escelator) and i will take great inspiration when it comes to to my final design. So far i have no idea eactly what i am heading for however i do have an image that i can work towards to keep me steady. i think it will include collage with a huge range of materials but we will have to wait and see :) xx

The Object of Desire is of course -- The Rubber Glove

Shock Horror: The day before the catwalk we were told to create a backdrop for out garment and this it what i was able to do with the time i had. This was a filmed piece of 'graffiti' which was played as my model walked down the runway. It was filmed for 13 minutes and i was able to compress that into a 45 second video and fast forward it to make a short drawing animation.

Distaster struck 6th January 2012 with the fashion show on our doorstep and a model no show for me ): thankfully someone stepped in for the save and it looked great. So thanks to her my day was a success. xx

Recycled Fashion xx

Over the past seven weeks we have been working on one project that had to be made suitable to walk down a catwalk. To get to our final result we had to produce work in our books to show our experimentations with a variety of medias and testing of our own objects -- previously stated, for me, its the rubber glove.
My book has turned out fo be a very strong collection of experiments ranging from moodboards, fashion illustrations, artists responses, photoshop, research and proposals and rubber glove tests to show the wide range of inspiration and knowledge i have gathered over these four weeks...
It has been a while since i recently posted but in that time i have been able to completely finish the Recycled Fashion Project and here is some of the work that i have been doing over following up to christmas and the last following days to perfect our books.
Below shows the main detailed experiment that i used for my dress before our christmas break and some of the photo shoots of both my models and my dress.

The backdrop for my photo shoot created in my garden from all small things lying around the house up
against our vine tree :)

Unfortunetely the work i have in my book i ave not been able to get onto the blog but as soon as i can. xx
